Artist Lizzee Solomon is a sculptor, painter and comic-maker. She created “Food Girls” and was the featured artist at the Monalloh Foundry Showcase: Cultería which happened on 10.26.2012 at Belvedere’s in Pittsburgh
Along with her drawings, and sculptures, I was asked to contribute a video for the show, which Lizzee had helped to create the aesthetic of. Wanting to expand on the aesthetic and concept of Lizzee, I asked to film and animate her sculptures, which I greatly admired.
This video features Food Girls. There is no sound, because it was played on a loop on a big screen TV in a lounge area, where live DJS and bands performed from the stage. Here are two photos from the event (Photos by StudioCORRIDA)

STRANDED V: LABORATORY
The fifth annual W&B Labor Day weekend warehouse experimentSaturday, September 1, 2012, 10pm-late
At the Pfizer factory in South Williamsburg, Brooklyn
In late spring, Winkel & Balktick stumbled upon a startling discovery… A vast laboratory complex sitting vacant in South Williamsburg. For more than 150 years, it had been the R&D headquarters of one of the world’s pharmaceutical titans. Now empty, it beckoned them to formulate a daring hypothesis.
As the mercury rose, they gathered renegade researchers from across the Five Boroughs. By the dim glow of bunsen burners, they collided hadrons and superpositioned particles. As the petri dishes subcultured and the polymerase chains overreacted, the results started to look revolutionary.
On Saturday, September 1st, join Winkel & Balktick for the unveiling of their breakthrough findings. Expect a night of eureka moments, bold experiments and a Nobel-worthy science fair built by King’s County’s creative catalysts.
In 1849, cousins Charles Pfizer and Charles Erhart, young entrepreneurs from Germany, opened Charles Pfizer & Company as a fine-chemicals business. A modest red-brick building in Williamsburg served as its office and laboratory.
As the family business expanded into a global enterprise, its headquarters grew with it. The once humble building morphed into an eight-story complex of laboratories, warehouses and manufacturing facilities. In 2006, Pfizer closed the doors and moved its operations elsewhere.
On Saturday, September 1st, Winkel & Balktick and their engineers of imagination will re-catalyze 50,000 square feet of the first floor with Nobel-worthy art and entertainment experiments.
The following carefully vetted researchers will be dropping science from a catwalk DJ booth 20 feet above the dancefloor:

THE RESEARCH PROJECTS
After months of R&D and confidential negotiations, we can disclose our first 30 art, interactive and unclassifiable projects. More rumors will be confirmed shortly.

I can’t wait to participate in the Laboratory and a visual treat!
I recently had the pleasure of creating a poster for a night of Jazz & Cypher in Pittsburgh’s rad and recent venue, Rocking Horse Artspace. Check out the poster, but more importantly check out the event!! These talented musicians always throw great parties and classy cool evenings. But you’ll find out for yourself right when you walk in the door and can’t stop smiling, or dancing! I will be in Ghana during the event (see: istep2012.techbridgeworld.org for details) but I wish everyone could go in my place! So do it!
